A relatively new tee has resulted in a considerably longer hole with a more pronounced dogleg than before. The ditch on the right catches many a pushed tee shot. The narrow landing area due to trees on both sides and a much-frequented fairway bunker on the left means you have to drive well to be rewarded with a straight shot into a slightly raised green, where more bunkering and a pond at the back lie in wait of the unwary. The 16th is truly an excellent par 4 by anyone’s standards, the start of a testing closing sequence of three holes which will test any golfer’s ability to close out their round.
