The Professional

Mark Rogers is our resident Professional, having joined us here in 2008. We are proud to say that Mark and his Assistants, Jack Smith and Dan Murrie, provide us with one of the best Professional Shops and associated services in the country.

Our Head Professional Mark Rogers joined us here in 2008 having previously been Head Professional at Seaton Carew Golf Club and Darlington before that.
In 2015 Mark won the prestigious Foremost Professional of the year award in recognition of his work within the here at York and the golfing industry. Mark was awarded the highly acclaimed status of Specialist PGA Professional in 2021 joining less than 10% of PGA members that have achieved this level.

Mark has played a vital role in developing our course and facilities here at York GC. 
In 2019 Mark opened the incredible Trackman Studio which has quickly become recognised as one of the leading fitting, coaching and simulation facilities in the area. In addition to this Mark is also a level 2 certified Trackman coach.

In addition to recognition from the Professional Golfers Association and the Foremost buying group Mark is also a Brand Ambassador for TaylorMade joining an elite group of 51 other Professionals around Europe. Other Ambassadors include Professionals based at Wentworth, Gleneagles, Turnberry and Quinta da Lago. Another Ambassador role Mark fulfils is for UnderArmour, again a select group being one of 40 in the UK.
 
   Jack Smith - PGA Assistant Professional. 

 
Jack joined Mark in early 2023 having previously worked at Rockliffe Hall Hotel and golf club. Jack is in his 3rd and final year of training and has already built up a great clientele with his coaching here at York with his great personality and approach to his work. Jack is responsible for the junior coaching here at York and his great work has resulted in our junior section continuing to grow.
 
    Dan Murrie - Assistant    
 
Dan joined Mark and Jack here in 2023 and quickly settled into his role here within the ProShop. As a Semi-Professional footballer Dan like many others had a go at golf as we came out of Covid lockdown. Since joining the team here at York Dan has become totally hooked on golf reducing his handicap from 26 to 3 and his infectious enthusiasm is evident in his work.
